I received the initial designs for the interior of the book and the cover. The obvious first issue I had was my incomplete name :)
Notwithstanding that, I didn't have much to change. The interior, which I won't show you here, is amazing in my opinion. I love it! The cover wasn't quite what I was looking for but it started to grow on me. There were two things I had to get use to. The first was the font used for the title. I was thinking of something much more masculine, but on reflection, I think I understand what the designer was going for. Even though this is a science fiction novel, it's target audience is not primarily men, unlike many SF stories. This is a thriller that anyone can enjoy. So I'm now good with the font style.
The other item was the view from inside a spacecraft drifting in the Ross 128 system. It shows the alien's point of view, which is fascinating because in my own thinking, I never saw it that way. Rather, I saw the point of view of someone on the rocky surface of Ross 128b - the planet in that system. So POV from the ship makes more sense. Too, I wondered if the interior of the craft was too clean, especially for a ship in distress. Maybe, but for now, I decided to leave it as is. With those changes returned to the designer, I now await the next iteration!
