I received my manuscript from my editor in early March and, as I suspected, it was in good shape overall. Nothing major to fix and I accepted all of the suggested changes. Still, I took my time reviewing the ms and giving it a final read-through. A few things were missed (like courier style quotation marks here and there), but nothing substantive.
So the manuscript is now with the designers who will be designing the content and the book cover. The editing went faster than I had anticipated so depending on how long the design takes, the book could be ready for distribution by the end of April - about a month sooner than I planned.
At this point, I'm ready to move on to my next writing project. I have new workshops I'm facilitating starting in a week, and spring is finally here, so it's time to look ahead again. My next novel will continue the story of Ross 128. I've only now begun thinking about the characters again and the overall plot -- still too early to tell what will develop, but I plan to have my story idea roughly fleshed out in the next 3 weeks. Then on to the planning and writing phases.
